Bigfork Hosting Fifth Annual Brewfest

By Beacon Staff

The fifth annual Bigfork Brewfest kicks off Friday afternoon with an art walk through downtown up to Whistling Andy’s distillery.

John Dunnigan will be playing at the Garden Bar and there will be a beard contest at 7 p.m. The best facial hair wins! The Raven will have a re-opening party Friday evening following its renovation. On Saturday, March 1, restaurants and food vendors will feature pork or bacon themed specials all day for “Pork in the Fork.” Then the 19th annual Spam-O-Rama is at The Garden Bar at 2 p.m. It’s a family friendly event of spam carving.

The brewfest is from 3-7 p.m. outside in the Brookies Cookies parking lot with live music from the Fetveit Brothers & Tommy Edwards. This event is outdoors, so dress warm or stand by the fire. There are 10 breweries from all over the state, and a couple from Washington and Oregon. Tickets are $25 and will include a mug & tasting tickets. Free buses will be running from Whitefish, Columbia Falls and Kalispell.

All are welcome but patrons must be 21 and over for the beer tasting. Free pop or coffee for designated drivers. Proceeds from this year’s brewfest will benefit The ACES afterschool program, The North Shore Nordic Club and the CFBB community scholarship program.
