As the days get warmer, a trip to the local park is certainly in order. In Libby, that means checking out Riverfront Park and the Fred Brown Pavilion along the Kootenai River. The city of Libby and the Environmental Protection Agency built the 37-acre park. It offers stunning views of the river and nearby Cabinet Mountains.
Besides the Fred Brown Pavilion (named after the late mayor) and picnic tables, the park has two boat launches. It is also located next to the city baseball fields and there is plenty of parking.
Years ago, the riverfront site was home to W.R. Grace and Company’s vermiculate load out, but today is clean and ready for use. It’s a prime example of the area’s rebirth in recent years.

How to get there:
The park is on the south side of the Kootenai River.
If you’re traveling west on Highway 2 in Libby, take a right on to Highway 37 and drive north.
The river and park are less than one mile, on the left.
