By Beacon Staff

Authorities have identified one of the two men killed Thursday night in a head-on collision south of Kalispell.

The Flathead County Coroner’s Office says Brian Delaney, 43, of Kalispell, died in a vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 93 South last night. Delaney was the driver of a pickup traveling southbound that was struck by another vehicle. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The name of the second individual killed in the crash, a 43-year-old Kalispell man, is being held pending notification of next of kin, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Montana Highway Patrol is investigating the incident and U.S. 93 is closed at mile marker 107.5 this afternoon for an estimated two hours. Traffic control and detours will be in place.
