Tim Hussin takes top honors: 63rd CPOY Winners Announced

Each year the University of Missouri School of Journalism administers the College Photographer of the Year (CPOY) contest. It's always exciting to see what kind of pictures young photographers are making and I'm always reminded of how insightful their visions can be. It's an incredible mix of talent and hard work.

National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) announced today (here) that University of Florida student Tim Hussin is the 63rd College Photographer of the Year - and after viewing his online portfolio (here) I can see why.

According to NPPA (here), "13,313 still images and 169 multimedia projects were entered by 566 student photographers from 121 college and universities in 13 different countries."

Judges this year were: Melissa Farlow (Freeland, National Geographic Magazine), Travis Fox (Video Producer, Washingtonpost.com), Tammy Lechner (Photojournalist & Author, Freelance) and Steve Rice (Staff Photographer/Videographer, Minneapolis Star Tribune)
