A Wet Homecoming for Columbia Falls

By Beacon Staff

Friday was a wet evening in Columbia Falls, where the Cats took on a tough Libby team for homecoming. Unfortunately, the Loggers’ speed was too much for the Cats, as Libby left town with a 41-21 victory.

There were a few bright spots, including a 98 yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Scott Palmer – which came at a time when the Cats really needed a lift.

Senior Scott Palmer (30) on his way to a 98 yard kickoff return for a touchdown, leaving a couple of Loggers looking for him in all the wrong places.

Senior Ben Wells (37) pursues Libby QB Joel Fuller (5), catching and tackling him a few steps later.

QB Mackie Nolan (14) is pursued by Libby’s Fuller (5).

Things that keep coaches up at night: How to stop Libby’s Jeremy Chumley (34), whose speed and elusiveness proved a difficult task all evening.
