Anaconda to Impose Random Drug Testing

By Beacon Staff

ANACONDA – The Anaconda School Board says high school athletes will be tested randomly to check for the presence of alcohol or drugs.

The board recently voted 5-1 for the testing.

The lone vote against the policy came from Bill Johnson, who said it would violate privacy rights.

Under the policy taking effect in August, students will have the opportunity to submit verification of prescription-drug use before they are tested.
