Flathead High School Graduate a Senior at UM

Anderson Places Eighth at Horsemanship Nationals

Congratulations to Camas Anderson, who placed eighth over the weekend at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association national finals in the novice Western horsemanship division. The finals were held in Murfreesboro, Tenn., on April 23-26. Anderson, a Flathead High School graduate and current University of Montana student, had placed fourth at a national semifinal event in Ohio to qualify for invitation to Murfreesboro.

Anderson, who is the captain of UM's equestrian team, said there were 425 riders at the finals, divided into different competitive levels and participating in both English and Western styles. Anderson, a senior, plans to continue riding with the equestrian team until her graduation in 2010 and then take a job as an assistant coach for the team. But she says she'll never stop riding.
