Bachelor Auction Raises $23,000 for Area Cancer Patients
The event raised money by auctioning off 15 Flathead bachelors and bachelorettes
The Oct. 27 Bachelor and Bachelorette Auction and Masquerade Ball raised $23,000 for area cancer patients to assist them through holiday season.

The event, organized by the nonprofit Flathead Cancer Aid Services, raised money by auctioning off 15 Flathead bachelors and bachelorettes, complete with date packages.

Recently, Flathead Cancer Aid Services and the Montana Woman Foundation asked the bachelors and bachelorettes to present checks at Sykes in Kalispell to the men and women who received donations.

One recipient, Michael, said, “Having two children and being a single father that cannot work because of the cancer, this money will help my family have a Christmas.”

Flathead Cancer Aid Services plans on holding a similar event next fall.

@NPDXReporter I think I'll start strategically calling it "pre-lunch" too, and then "forget" to eat my real lunch later. #dessertforlunch
