Beacon Debuts ‘Business Monthly’

By Beacon Staff

Our first edition of the “Beacon Business Monthly” is inserted in our print edition this week. Its focus is on health care. And while our main stories will be published on the Web, some features, such as graphs and charts on home sales and airport traffic, will not. So pick up a copy. As always, it’s free. Here’s Beacon writer Myers Reece’s introduction to the publication:

Amid Economic Uncertainty, a Local Guide

This is the first edition of the Beacon’s “Business Monthly.” It will come out at the end of each month, focusing its main stories on a different industry each issue and providing additional business tidbits that we feel are pertinent to the valley.

We have chosen health care, the nation’s largest industry and a major employer in the Flathead, to kick off the “Business Monthly.” As President Barack Obama pushes for sweeping health care reform, it seems an appropriate time to take an in-depth look into a vital and rapidly growing industry as it tries to adapt to the nation’s harsh economic climate.
