Bigfork Boys Seek State Tournament Seed at Divisional

The Vikings cruised through the District 7-B tournament and avoided another upset against Troy in the title game.
Bigfork defeated Troy 52-21 last weekend and advanced to this week’s Western B divisional tournament at Flathead High.
The Vikings (16-4 overall) play St. Ignatius (7-14) at 11:20 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21. Thompson Falls (7-13) plays Missoula Loyola (13-7) at 1 p.m. Florence (19-1) takes on Eureka (1-20) at 4 p.m. and Deer Lodge (9-11) plays Troy at 5:45 p.m.
The divisional semifinals are Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. The championship game is Saturday at 8:45 p.m. The top two teams advance to the Class B state tournament in Butte, March 7-9.
Bigfork fell from the top spot in last week’s rankings after losing to Florence. The Vikings finished the regular season ranked third and seeking another run at a state trophy. Florence held the top spot followed by Malta. Rocky Boy was fourth. Eighth-ranked Loyola was the only other team from the West ranked in the top 10.
