BLUAC Filling a Vacancy

By Beacon Staff

A seat opened up on the Bigfork Land Use Advisory Committee with the resignation of member Mary Jo Naïve. Naïve’s term didn’t expire for two more years. BLUAC needs to fill the position until May elections when both John Bourquin and Phil Hanson’s terms run out. Members serve three years on the Committee. BLUAC’s basic purpose is to act as a liaison between the people of Bigfork and the County. Developers submit proposed projects to the Committee, which then sends a recommendation for approval or denial up to the County. Flathead County Commissioners established BLUAC in 1993 when they adopted the Bigfork Neighborhood Zoning District.

Those interested must be a registered voter in the Bigfork Zoning District for a minimum of 2 years. Contact Sue Hanson, BLUAC Secretary, at [email protected], or (406)837-5323.
