Cabela’s Plans to Break Ground Next Month
New retail store in Kalispell eyes October opening
Cabela's submitted a building permit to the city of Kalispell and is expected to break ground on a new 42,000-square-foot retail store next month, according to city officials.

Kalispell Planning Director Tom Jentz said the company plans to construct its new store in 22 weeks, with the goal of opening in the middle of October.

The new Cabela's Outpost store will be located on the corner of U.S. Highway 93 near Lowe's. It will be Cabela’s second store in Montana, joining the Billings location. The outdoor retailer plans to employ about 75 full-time, part-time and seasonal employees.

Cabela’s announced plans to open a new location in Kalispell last September.

“When you look at a map of the United States this wonderful place just jumps right off the map,” Tommy Millner, Cabela’s CEO, told the Beacon at the time.
