California Teen Charged Over School Bomb Threats

By Beacon Staff

HELENA — A 14-year-old boy from Dublin, Calif., faces six charges in Youth Court after three bomb threats were made against Montana schools two weeks ago.

KTVH-TV reports the boy is charged in Alameda County District Court as a delinquent youth facing three counts of terrorist threats and three counts of false report of a bomb.

Lewis and Clark County prosecutors filed Youth Court charges against the boy on March 21. Police Chief Troy McGee says California is entitled to prosecute him first.

A 16-year-old Helena Capital student faces two felony intimidation charges in Youth Court for allegedly conspiring with the California teen on two of the bomb threats.

The threats led to the evacuation of Helena elementary and middle schools on March 19 and all public schools on March 21.
