United Way fundraiser: Coffee with a Cause

I'm not sure about you, but I'm one of those people who can't really get moving in the mornings until I've got my cup of coffee. And I like to think it's not because my body is addicted to the caffeine (it is), but more like an integral part of my routine (also the case). I don't think I'm alone in saying coffee can make or break my day.

Now, thanks to the efforts from United Way, my coffee can help make someone else's day (because that's what the holidays are all about, you know).

This year, United Way will benefit from a "Hope for the Holidays" coffee blend created by Kalispell-based Fieldheads Coffee Company owner Peggy Ennenga. She developed the taste in her kitchen by trying out on some lucky United Way workers. Here's some info from the press release:

The coffee is available through the United Way office and from Fieldheads Coffee, a business operated by Ennenga and her family. A portion of the purchase price on each pound of coffee will be donated to the United Way.

“It’s such a great organization that I’m excited to give back in even just a little way,” she said.

It’s a blend of South American and Indonesian coffees developed in Ennenga’s kitchen.

Earlier this year, Ennenga developed Hearts N’ Hands, A Community Blend, to benefit the United Way, and that blend is also available. Ennenga’s family has operated Fieldheads Coffee Company since 2002, and roasts a variety of coffees, all purchased at Fair Trade prices or above from growers.
