By Beacon Staff

BOZEMAN – Authorities say a 28-year-old Connecticut man died while skiing near Bozeman’s Bear Canyon Trail over the weekend.

Ben Lyster was skiing with a friend Saturday afternoon when the two separated. The friend skied back up the trail and found Lyster unconscious and not breathing.

The cause and manner of death are being investigated, but Gallatin County Sheriff Jim Cashell says there is no indication of foul play.

Lyster’s body was removed from the area by helicopter.
