Corprons Dominate at Raceway Park
Kalispell’s Tyler Corpron cruised in the Legends division at Montana Raceway Park
The Corpron family was very busy last Saturday.
Kalispell’s Tyler Corpron cruised in the Legends division at Montana Raceway Park last weekend. Corpron set the fast time, won the heat race and cruised to victory in the main event. Corpron holds a firm lead in the points chase entering the final stretch of the season.
Corpron’s brother, Trevor, won the Legends trophy dash. The third Corpron brother, Tristan, placed third in the heat race.
Brothers Jay and Bruce Corpron dusted off their driving suits raced for the first time in almost 10 years. The Corpron brothers raced in the Hobby Stocks. Jay set the fast time. Both Corpron brothers had their nights end early in the A heat race after Bruce got caught up in an accident and crashed into the wall and Jay had a motor expire near the end of the heat.
In the first of two trophy dashes, Steve Hrisook won the B dash and Josh Robinson claimed the A dash. Rick Mitchell took the B heat and Josh Robinson came away with the A heat. Casey Brandt won the main event, edging Marvin Stone for the win. Stone leads the points chase by 15 points over Dustin Martel.
Brock Denney set fast time for the Bandolero division. In the trophy dash, Bryce Denney beat out his brother Brock to claim the trophy. Brock went on to win the heat race edging out Zach Havens for the win. Brock finished his night by winning the main event. Brock leads the division points by 15 over Bryce.
Keith Sheppard took the fast time in the Hornet division. In the B dash, Joe Peterson claimed the win and Keith Sheppard won the A dash. Sheppard rolled into the winner’s circle in the main event, followed by Tyler Volkman and Ryan Krause. Krause continues to lead Sheppard by 26 points in the year-end chase.
Four events remain in this year’s Raceway Park season. The Super Stock 100 is this weekend along with the Bombers, Hornets, and for the first time this year, the Northwest Scaled Late Models. It’s also the final kid’s night — kids 12 and under will have the chance to ride in stock cars during intermission.
