County Commissioner Brenneman addresses Columbia Falls Rotary

By Beacon Staff

Today’s Rotary Club of Columbia Falls weekly meeting included a brief address by Flathead County Commissioner Joe Brenneman, followed by a question and answer session.

The questions were focused on two primary areas of interest: growth (including water rights, green space, and private property use) and possible upcoming bond issues. Bond issues discussed were all over the map, with Brenneman being questioned about a potential library expansion / addition, a justice center (which Brenneman indicated he’d like to avoid if at all possible via the use of new house-arrest type monitoring capabilities) and a new sewage processing plant.

The Commissioner’s schedule for the day was also discussed as a point of curiosity. As you might expect, it’s wall to wall meetings, hearings and boards.
