Denver Broncos Draft Kalispell’s Osweiler

Brock’s a Bronco.

The Denver Broncos drafted Kalispell’s Brock Osweiler with the 57th overall pick of the NFL Draft on Friday.

The 22-year-old Flathead High School graduate who left Arizona State University after his junior year joins future Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning in Denver.

Another Hall of Fame quarterback, Denver’s Executive Vice President of Football Operations John Elway, reacted to drafting Osweiler on Twitter immediately afterward.

“Excited that Brock Osweiler is going to be a Bronco. Very talented & will have a great opportunity to learn from one of the best,” Elway wrote.

Osweiler also took to Twitter following the news.

“I can’t explain the emotions I am feeling at this moment,” he wrote. “I am so blessed to join an organization with such amazing players coaches and fans.”

UPDATED (4/29) — The St. Louis Rams chose former Montana Grizzly cornerback Trumaine Johnson with the 65th overall pick in the third round. The Dallas Cowboys drafted former Griz linebacker Caleb McSurdy with the 222nd pick. Following the draft, four former Griz entered the NFL through free agency: Jabin Sambrano (Indianapolis Colts); Charles Burton (San Diego Chargers); Jon Opperud (Seattle Seahawks); Brody McKnight (New York Jets). Montana State had one former player sign: Elvis Akpla (Philadelphia Eagles).
