Dogs Seized in Evergreen

By Beacon Staff

A 66-year-old Evergreen woman faces aggravated animal cruelty charges after county officials seized 25 dogs living in cramped, filthy quarters.

Juanita McGranor was charged after the Siberian huskies were seized last week.

County animal warden Paul Charbonneau says the dogs did not have food and water readily available, were living in small campers and were covered with fecal material.

Twenty-two of the dogs are being housed at the fairgrounds and three pregnant females are at the animal shelter.
