Five football teams from the Big Sky Conference are ranked in the top 25 of the latest FCS polls.

Eastern Washington moved into the No. 2 spot after a major upset of Oregon State last weekend. Eagles' quarterback Vernon Adams passed for 411 yards and ran for another 107 to lead Eastern Washington past OSU 49-46. Eastern Washington became only the third FCS team to ever beat a ranked FBS team. The Beavers were ranked 25th in the nation. James Madison beat Virginia Tech in September 2010 and Appalachian State upset Michigan in 2007.

Montana State moved from second to third in the rankings. The Bobcats cruised to a 42-24 win over Monmouth in the season opener.

Both MSU and Eastern Washington earned the same rankings in both the FCS coaches poll and Sports Network poll.

The University of Montana is ranked 13th in the Sports Network poll and 18th in the FCS coaches poll. The Griz earned an impressive 30-6 home victory over previously 12th-ranked Appalachian State. The Mountaineers are now 21st in the SN poll and are not ranked in the coaches poll because the team is moving to the FBS next season.

Cal Poly is ranked 10th in the FCS and 12th in the Sports Network. Northern Arizona is 22nd in Sports Network and 24th in the FCS. Two-time defending national champions, North Dakota State, are ranked first in both. The Bison picked up an FBS victory in their season opener, defeating last year's Fiesta Bowl contender Kansas State, 24-21.
