Employment Expo: Hope for Flathead Job Seekers
2009 Employment Exploration Expo
For months, as Flathead Valley unemployment rates have climbed, the search for jobs has been tough: Listings at the local job service are sparse and competition stiff. Some have taken to standing on corners with signs, posting job requests in their car windows or hitting the streets, knocking on doors to find work.
Today, however, the search is a little bit easier: Job seekers can find the valley's employers in one spot – the 2009 Employment Exploration Expo this Thursday at Kalispell Center Mall from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Organized by Flathead Workforce System Community Management Team, the event is free and open to the public, and according to a press release, is ideal for individuals seeking full-time, part-time or summer employment, temporary positions, education and retraining opportunities, new careers or employment services.
Nearly 70 employers, training and education providers and resources are registered to participate in the event. A list of participating businesses and organizations is available at http://wsd.dli.mt.gov/local/kalispell/ For m.ore information, call 758-6200.

The first I heard about it was yesterday and went over there today. It was a zoo, unorganized and I couldn’t believe the way people were dressed to look for employment.
