Evergreen Woman Pleads Guilty to Animal Abuse

By Beacon Staff

A 66-year-old woman has pleaded guilty to animal abuse after Flathead County animal wardens and deputies found 25 Siberian huskies in a feces-coated trailer and in her mobile home in Evergreen.

Juanita McGranor was arrested June 25 and was released on house arrest the next day after consenting to having the dogs spayed and neutered. Those procedures took place over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

As part of a plea deal, the county attorney’s office will recommend McGranor receive a three-year deferred sentence. She will not be allowed to have any animals during that time.

McGranor is set to be sentenced in October.
