The Beaver Lakes section of the Whitefish Trail offers a quick escape that is perfect for winter hiking or snowshoeing.
The trailhead, located about seven miles west of Whitefish, winds through state-owned land and provides access to some local lakes and ponds.
There are two primary hikes that start from the Beaver Lakes Trailhead, just off the Beaver Lake Road.
The first hike starts at an intersection about a half mile from the trailhead and heads south, making a 3.5-mile loop. Going north from the intersection will take you about five miles to the North Beaver Connection trailhead.

How to get there
From downtown Whitefish, continue north on U.S. Highway 93.
After about seven miles, turn right on Beaver Lake Road.
There is a sign directing to Beaver Lake.
Travel about 1.5 miles on Beaver Lake Road and the trailhead is on the right.
