EXPLORE: Flathead Sled Dog Fun Run

By Beacon Staff

The Flathead Sled Dog Fun Run is set for Saturday, March 1 on the Stillwater State Forest near Olney.

The event will kick off at 10 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m.

The event is a spinoff of the popular Flathead Sled Dog Days that took place from 2008 to 2012.

The event is being hosted by Brett Svetlik and has multiple classes of dogsled races, including ones for six to eight adult dogs and four to six adult and junior dogs.

The races will take place on varying courses ranging from 4.6 miles to 14.2 miles.

The race routes and distances are subject to change depending on weather, terrain and race participation.

The event is free and open to the public.

If you would like more information about how you can get involved as a race participant, volunteer or sponsor, contact Svetlik via email at [email protected] or by phone at (406) 239-0858.
