There is a chill in the air and autumn is just around the corner.
A wonderful spot to take in the season’s stunning splendor is Lake Five between Coram and West Glacier.
The lake can be accessed via Paul’s Memorial Fishing Access, a site maintained by Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks.
The fishing access site was constructed in 2011 and provides new access to the lake.
From the dock, boaters can launch for an afternoon fishing trip with a view of Glacier National Park’s stunning peaks just a few miles away.
The site includes a boat dock and ramp, as well as parking spots and a bathroom.
Access to the lake was first envisioned by Elizabeth Taylor and Edna Ridenour as a tribute to late family members. Together they worked to acquire and donate land to FWP.
The site is open year round.
How to get there:
From Coram, travel east on U.S. Highway 2 about four miles.
Take a left on Lake Five Road and travel about 1.5 miles to the fishing access.
The fishing site is clearly marked with signage on Highway 2.
