Explosion, Fire Destroys Unoccupied House in Dayton
Owner of the house says firefighters think a propane pipeline leaked
DAYTON – Officials in Lake County say an explosion and fire destroyed an unoccupied house in Dayton over the weekend.

The owner of the house tells KCFW-TV that firefighters think a propane pipeline along the home leaked into the basement and the house blew up when electric heaters turned on late Friday night.

Lake County sheriff's office information officer Karen Sergeant tells KERR-AM that two unoccupied houses next door sustained significant structural damage while a fourth house shook, but was not damaged.

Neighbors say the blast caused pictures to shake on the walls.

Dayton is about 20 miles north of Polson on the west side of Flathead Lake.
