Finders Keepers and a UFO Sighting

12:23 a.m. Two hikers were reported as lost in the Great Bear Wilderness area. The men emerged unharmed five hours later.

1:01 a.m. A male subject banged on the windows at a home on South Cedar Drive. The man did not gain entry into the home.

2:21 a.m. A resident of Kelly Road in Kalispell claims that they saw a whitish-blue light hover in the northwest sky for about ten seconds before it disappeared. The reporting party, who had not been drinking, was directed to the National UFO Reporting Center.

4:15 a.m. Two adult men yelled at one another in Lakeside.

6:46 a.m. An Evergreen woman awoke to find four flat tires on her daughter’s vehicle. Authorities do not suspect malicious intent.

7:47 a.m. Shots fired on Anderson Lane in Evergreen turned out to be someone hunting ducks on their own property.

8:09 a.m. A vehicle was found on its top in Ashley Creek. Authorities located the driver, who was treated for cuts to his legs.

10:33 a.m. Someone heard yelling and screaming at a neighbor’s home on Highway 2. The disturbance was verbal only and the parties were separated for the night.

11:50 a.m. A slash pile in Whitefish was found to be supervised and under control.

12:58 p.m. Someone called from Wintercrest Drive to report that they were bitten by a dog three days ago.

1:13 p.m. A Columbia Falls woman called to report that her husband had gone missing. The man was later located in another city.

3:03 p.m. Someone on Hidden Valley Drive in Whitefish reports hearing shooting above her house. The source of the noise could not be located.

3:25 p.m. A 16-year-old female attempted to shoplift underpants from an Evergreen box store.

3:34 p.m. Someone on Plantation Drive lost an item off the top of their vehicle. A neighbor then picked up the object and refused to give it back.

5:31 p.m. A suspicious vehicle on Tetrault Lane contained a man who was taking a nap. Authorities invited the man to move along.

6:05 p.m. A resident of Church Drive noticed a suspicious vehicle containing a supply of food on their property. The vehicle owner was found and invited to leave.

7:45 p.m. What was thought to be smoke at a local business turned out to be steam from a vent pipe.

8:36 p.m. A woman wandering down Whitefish Stage Road looked like she could use a welfare check. Unfortunately, she was gone when authorities arrived.

10:13 p.m. Five shots heard in Hungry Horse were intended to frighten a bear.

1:19 a.m. Two men fought in a Columbia Falls bar.

2:00 a.m. Two suspicious-looking men attempted to break into a vehicle on Ridgewood Terrace. One was arrested for probation violation.
