Fire at KOFI Radio Station Extinguished Quickly

Just before midnight Wednesday, the Kalispell Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at the KOFI radio broadcast studio on First Avenue East.

Firefighters found heavy smoke upon entering the building, but they were able to extinguish the blaze quickly. There were no injuries and minimal damage to the broadcast studio, estimated at $15,000. Right now, the fire is believed to be electrical.

Assistance was received from Kalispell Police Department, Evergreen Fire Department, Whitefish Fire Department, Flathead County Dispatch Center personnel and Flathead Electric.
