Flathead Brewery Announces Expansion

By Beacon Staff

The summer of 2012 is turning out to be a good one for Flathead Lake Brewing Co. in Woods Bay. A few months after the brewery won two awards at recent brew festivals, the company announced this week it was moving to a larger facility in Bigfork.

The old North Shore Bowling Alley building on the corner of Holt Drive and MT Highway 35 in Bigfork will become the brewery’s new home sometime next year. The building is currently empty and will be remodeled before Flathead Lake Brewing moves in.

“We’re happy that Montanans love our beer,” said owner Greg Johnston. “We’re happy to stay on this side of the lake. We love it here. This is home.”

According to Director of Sales Nate Willette, the brewery is quickly out growing its current Woods Bay location, which will remain open for at least another year.

“This move is going to be great for us and for Bigfork,” Willette said.
