Flathead Lake Management Meeting on Thursday Feb. 11

There will be an informational public meeting on Thursday Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. regarding the management of lake trout in Flathead Lake. It will be held at the Hampton Inn in Kalispell.

Art Noonan, deputy director for Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, and Tom McDonald, of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, are scheduled to give presentations, which will be followed by a question-and-answer session with the public. The meeting is hosted by the group Flathead Wildlife Inc.

PLEASE, everyone, come to this meeting!  We have been told time and time again that plans to aggressively remove lake trout from Flathead Lake would be done with full transparency and public involvement.  Recent documents and plans suggest gillnets ARE going to be used beginning this year to remove 25%…
