Former Kalispell Mayor Dies After Fall
51-year-old man was using a wheelchair lift and fell backward
William Boharski, a former mayor of Kalispell, passed away on Oct. 11 after falling from a wheelchair lift and hitting his head.

According to the Flathead County Sheriff's Office, Boharski, 51, was using the wheelchair lift at a commercial building in Kalispell when his wheelchair tipped over backward and his head hit the wall and the floor. He was transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center, where he later died.

The sheriff's office and the Kalispell Police Department are still investigating the cause of the accident, and the cause of death is pending autopsy results.

Boharski served one term as mayor, from 1998 to 2001. Before that, he served in the Montana House of Representatives for five terms.
