State wildlife officials killed a mountain lion that had been killing barn cats in a residential area about five miles north of Kalispell.
Fish, Wildlife and Parks bear and lion specialist Erik Wenum says area residents spotted the lion in a barn Wednesday and landowners reported seeing it in another barn Thursday morning.
The 75-pound, 1½-year-old female lion was shot as it crouched under the deck at a house.
