Habitat for Humanity Seeking Volunteers for Annual Shed Build

By Beacon Staff

Flathead Valley Community College’s Habitat for Humanity Chapter is recruiting community members to help with constructing a shed and selling raffle tickets for its fourth annual shed build and raffle fundraiser.

On April 3 and 4, volunteers will gather for Habitat for Humanity Shed Building Day, an effort involving the construction of one 8’ x 12’ shed to be raffled off with proceeds benefitting the community-based organization that seeks to provide affordable housing for low-income Flathead Valley residents who are currently living in substandard housing.

Raffle tickets can be purchased at the Habitat for Humanity Restore located at 215 West Idaho Street in Kalispell and at the FVCC Bookstore in Blake Hall on the college campus. Tickets are $5 each or five tickets for $20. The drawing will take place July 1.

All volunteers have the opportunity to earn service learning hours. For more information or to volunteer, stop by the Service Learning Office in Blake Hall on campus, or contact James Potts at 406-241-6869 or Wendy Jeschke at 756-3372.
