Historic World War II Plane Lands in the Flathead Valley
Tours and rides offered on B-25J bomber at Glacier Jet Center

If you are looking for something a little different this weekend, head on over to the Glacier Jet Center near Glacier Park International Airport and check out an historic B-25J bomber plane from Missouri. The Commemorative Air Force Missouri Wing flew into the Flathead Valley Thursday night and will be giving tours all day Saturday and Sunday.
The plane was built in 1944 and used for training at the end of World War II. In 1960 it was sold to a private owner and in 1984 the historic preservation group purchased it. Since then, volunteers have put thousands of hours of work into it – “when they get time off from work or if the wife lets them go,” said Bob Moore. Every summer, volunteers like Moore head out and show the plane across the country.
