Hundreds Attend Rehberg Meeting on Health Care

BILLINGS – Republican U.S. Rep. Denny Rehberg says he agrees with about 80 percent of the language in the health care reform proposal but has concerns about 20 percent.

Rehberg spoke Saturday at Montana State University Billings before about 500 people.

He says he's against the so-called public option part because there's no reason to "replace health insurance bureaucrats with government bureaucrats."

He also says the government shouldn't implement a system that rations the availability of health care.

Rehberg says the government should increase competition by allowing citizens to seek health insurance across state lines.

He says offering people incentives to live a healthy lifestyle and writing legislation to reduce the amount of money involved in medical malpractice lawsuits could also prevent health care costs from rising.
