Johnson Can Appeal Suspension from Football Team

By Beacon Staff

MISSOULA — Montana football coach Mick Delaney says he believes now that Jordan Johnson has been acquitted on a rape charge he will begin his efforts to reverse his suspension from the football team.

Delaney told KGVO-AM on Monday that he believes Johnson wants to be at the University of Montana to continue his education and get back involved with football.

School officials say Johnson would have to submit a request in writing for a hearing before the athletic conduct team. UM President Royce Engstrom told the Missoulian on Friday that school officials will “attend to that as quickly as we can, if that’s what Jordan wishes.”

Spring football drills start on March 18.
