Jury Finds Sanders County Man Guilty of Sexual Assault

By Beacon Staff

THOMPSON FALLS – A Sanders County man, accused of keeping a woman captive and sexually molesting her for 15 years, has been found guilty on all five counts in a Thompson Falls courtroom.

The jury returned guilty verdicts Tuesday against 55-year-old Douglas Guill after 11 hours of deliberation.

Guill and his wife were arrested after the victim, now 22, told authorities she had escaped from Guill’s home, where she claimed to have been sexually abused by Guill since the age of 6.

Guill is to be sentenced on May 20th.

Guill’s wife, Nicole, faces sexual assault charges and is to be tried separately.
