Cosmopolitan magazine has named Kalispell native and professional kayaker Brad Ludden as its readers’ choice Hottest Bachelor of 2008.
The 27-year-old Ludden, who now lives in Colorado, competed with men from every state and appears in the magazine’s November issue. The world-renowned kayaker has donated his $10,000 prize to First Descents, the outdoor adventure camp he founded in 2001 for young adults with cancer.
Kate White, Cosmo’s editor-in-chief, said Ludden’s good deeds, good looks and passion for life pushed him above the pack to take this year’s title.
Ludden’s parents, Dr. Charles and Jinny Ludden, said their son hasn’t had a lot of time to celebrate because he is making a kayaking film in Madagascar.
The younger Ludden said in a video made at last month’s award ceremony that the best part of the contest was meeting the other contestants.
“They all deserved it easily as much as I did,” he said.
