Kalispell Native Rising in the Snowboard Ranks
Michnal pursuing a career as a professional snowboarder
Caden Michnal has been pursuing a career as a professional snowboarder ever since he was a young rider growing up on Big Mountain at Whitefish Mountain Resort. The 19-year-old Kalispell native appears to be on the right track.
Michnal had a nice surprise last month when he opened up SNOWBOARDER Magazine and saw himself featured on a full-page spread with a photo and nice write-up. He competed at the magazine’s annual amateur showcase event, The Launch, in Park City, Utah last spring and was noticed by some of the sport’s top aficionados. The issue on newsstands last month highlighted some of the sport’s up and comers and Michnal was included, much to his surprise.
“My friends saw something on Facebook about it and when I saw it I was pretty amazed,” Michnal said. “I’m hoping this spread will help me get some support. It’s really hard to get any sponsors. I’m saving up and want to send a bunch of videos out to companies and hopefully get some support.”
