Kalispell School Board to Interview Superintendent Finalists

The Kalispell School District Board of Trustees is preparing to interview five finalists for the superintendent position.

The school board will hold interviews Jan. 12-14, beginning with a community social event on Sunday, Jan. 12 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The event will be held at the Museum at Central School, 124 2nd Ave. E. It will be an informal setting for all community members to visit with the five finalists.

The finalists are Deborah Akers, superintendent at Mercer County Schools in Princeton, W. Va.; Mark Flatau, superintendent at Cle Elum-Roslyn School District in Cle Elum-Roslyn, Wash.; Glenn Gelbrich, superintendent at Juneau School District in Juneau, Alaska; Randy Cline, superintendent at Frenchtown School District in Frenchtown; Tom Moore, assistant superintendent at Great Falls Public Schools in Great Falls.

The finalists will spend two days touring the schools in the district, meet with staff and have breakfast and lunch at the various sites. The interviews are open to the public and will take place at the Kalispell Middle School Library. Following is the schedule of interviews: Jan. 13, 5 p.m., Akers; 6:30 p.m., Flatau; 8 p.m., Gelbrich; Jan. 14, 5:30 p.m., Cline; 7 p.m., Moore.
