Kalispell’s Harris Named to Division 1 Academic Football Team

University of Montana senior defensive end Josh Harris has been named first team on the College Sports Information Director Association’s Capital One Division 1 Academic All-District 7 football team, announced today.

Harris, a former Flathead High standout, made the team along with teammate Bo Tully. To be eligible for All-District honors, an athlete must be a starter or major contributor on a team and maintain a GPA of at least 3.3. District 7 is comprised of nine states: Montana, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming.

Harris maintains a 3.63 GPA and is studying sociology, according to UM. He is currently the Grizzlies’ ninth leading tackler with 28.

Harris and Tully are now eligible to be named to the Division 1 Academic All-American team, which will be announced Dec. 6.
