Lakers Baseball Camp, Fundraiser Golf Tournament Coming Up

By Beacon Staff

Baseball season for legion and youth players is almost here and two upcoming events are being held in connection with the Kalispell Lakers program.

The Lakers are holding a camp on April 13 for players between the ages of 8 and 15. The deadline to register is April 6. Legion baseball coaches and players will direct the annual clinic, which will cover fundamentals in throwing, fielding and a special emphasis on hitting. The camp is intended to help Pee-wee and Babe Ruth players prepare for the upcoming season.

The camp runs from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The cost is $35 for an individual, or $60 for two family campers, and includes a T-shirt and pizza.

The 20th annual American Legion Baseball Golf Tournament is April 20 at Village Greens in Kalispell. The tournament is an 18-hole scramble for four-person teams and features hole prizes and a putting contest. The event supports the legion baseball organization. Hole sponsorships are available.

To register for either event, or for more information, visit the Lakers’ website.

The Lakers officially begin the season on April 21 against Kootenai Valley.
