Lakeside Man Sentenced for Ax Attack

KALISPELL – A Lakeside man accused of attacking his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend with an ax has been sentenced to 20 years in prison with 10 years suspended.

Jesse Sheridan was charged with assault with a weapon after the April 2008 attack on Marvin Saloway. Investigators say Sheridan broke into Saloway's home and attacked him as he slept.

Saloway lost his left eye, the tip of his finger, and suffered several bruises and scratches. He says he doesn't remember being hit by an ax, but an eye doctor testified that something stronger than a fist was probably used.
