Lincoln County Man Denies Attempted Murder Charge
Denied charge that he tried to kill his former girlfriend in March
LIBBY – A northwestern Montana man has denied a charge that he tried to kill his former girlfriend in March.

KCFW-TV reports 57-year-old John Navarro Stone of Fortine pleaded not guilty Monday to attempted deliberate homicide and aggravated assault during a District Court hearing in Libby.

Lincoln County prosecutors allege Stone assaulted 82-year-old Wynne Wylie on March 10, pulling a plastic bag over her head and throwing her to the floor, breaking a bone in her neck.

Stone was arrested April 16 at Jerry Johnson Hot Springs in Idaho, just across the Montana border on U.S. Highway 12.
