LIBBY – Organizers of a petition drive to recall the Lincoln County sheriff in western Montana have failed to turn in any signatures.
County officials say the petition was not submitted by Tuesday's deadline. The drive needed to gather about 2,000 signatures to be successful.
A group of Eureka-area residents began circulating a petition to recall Lincoln County Sheriff Daryl Anderson over job performance and other issues.
Anderson says none of the group's accusations had any merit.
