Lottery Scam
Flathead County Sheriff's and Kalispell Police Reports

9:25 a.m. A FedEx employee reported that his company intercepted a lottery scam check for $76,000 en route to Jamaica.. The caller hoped a deputy would check on the Columbia Falls man who had written the check.

10:41 a.m. An intoxicated man was taken home after someone found him sleeping next to a woman’s restroom at a local park.

11:14 a.m. Someone driving down Haywire Trail reported that a couple in a parked car ducked and hid when she drove by.

12:10 p.m. A Whitefish woman reported that her landlord was harassing her with his "speed gun" and accusing her of speeding. She was adamant that she did not speed and felt threatened by his gun.

12:14 p.m. A resident on Tally Lake Road reported that his lack cow has gone missing.

12:39 p.m. A man who was eating his lunch at the Lybeck Dyke noticed a Nissan Pathfinder fully submerged in the river.

1:04 p.m. Someone watched a long-haired man in a beat-up Prius pour himself a mixed drink at a Ferndale gas station.

2:39 p.m. A man called 911 from Tetrault Road to report that two girls had tied a raft to a bridge on the Whitefish River. He stated that they were not in distress and he could not clarify why he thought this was an emergency, only that he suspected it could become one. A deputy checked on the girls and they were fine.

5:08 p.m. A Whitefish resident reported that her large cement sculpture was stolen from her front yard sometime during the previous night.

7:05 p.m. A Columbia Falls resident reported that someone in a red van pulled up to the front yard and stole their cooler. They called back later to say their grandson had taken it.

12:27 a.m. An Evergreen woman called 911 to report that a man stole a few items from her purse. She then stated that she knew the man, did not need law enforcement, and would “fix” the situation herself.

12:45 a.m. An intoxicated man on Maple drive reported that his twin brother, also intoxicated, threatened to throw his guitar outside.
