Steep Reward Offered for Info on Poaching Incidents

By Beacon Staff

A steep reward is being offered for information about a string of poaching incidents near Whitefish over the past two years.

Wildlife enforcement officers from Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks are investigating the illegal shooting of at least 19 deer. A reward of $4,450 is being offered. A large portion of the reward money has been gathered from local donors. The deer were shot and left to rot and some were missing their antlers. Most of the shootings occurred at night on Farm to Market Road, Twin Bridges Road, Voerman Road, Monegan Road and other back roads in the Whitefish area, according to FWP.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Crimestoppers hotline (752-8477) or 1-800-TIPMONT.
