44-year-old Marion Man Arrested

Marion Standoff Ends Peacefully

A 24-hour standoff in Marion ended peacefully after the Flathead County Sheriff’s department arrested Thomas Lockwood, 44, at his Lost Prairie Road home.

Reportedly, the man’s wife and children were in the home when a single gunshot from a handgun was heard within the residence at about 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Then, according to a spokesman for the sheriff’s department, the woman and her children fled nearly a half mile down an unplowed road to a neighbor’s home to call authorities. It’s not certain how many, but later more gunshots were hear.

The Marion man was taken into custody without incident at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening on charges of criminal endangerment, and two charges from a previous incident, including DUI and failure to remain at the scene of an accident. Additional charges are pending.
