MHSA Postpones Class AA Semifinal Football Game in Butte

By Beacon Staff

BUTTE — Heavy snow has forced the Class AA semifinal football game between Great Falls Russell and Butte High to be postponed until Saturday afternoon.

The teams had been scheduled to play at 7 p.m. Friday, but Butte and much of the rest of the state is under a winter storm warning until Saturday morning. The Montana Department of Transportation reported severe driving conditions, including blizzard conditions, between Great Falls and Wolf Creek.

The game has been rescheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Naranche Stadium.

Kalispell Glacier is scheduled to play Bozeman High in the other semifinal on Friday night.

The Montana High School Association says the other high school semifinal games are to be played as scheduled, but the MHSA and playoff site mangers are still monitoring weather and road conditions.
