The Ch-47 Chinook choppers departed for North Dakota's Grand Forks Air Force Base on Saturday. In addition to the pilots, the helicopters carried about 18 soldiers.
Maj. Tim Crowe of the Montana National Guard says the helicopters and personnel are prepared to stay in the Red River Basin, along the North Dakota-Minnesota border, for as long as they're needed. Missions include transport throughout the area.
